Can I Sing?

Monique from South Africa sent me a letter recently and asked if I could sing? I'm glad to say that I certainly can! In fact, you will often see me joining in with the elves as we work throughout the day. Elves love to sing because it makes things seem to go faster for them. I like to sing because there isn't anything I can think of to make me feel happier than to belt out a good Christmas carol. It doesn't even have to be a Christmas song either. And if I don't know the words to a song - I make it a point to find the lyrics or ask any elf to help me through a song. I admit I'm not the best singer, but I never can see any reason why anyone wouldn't want to take part in a song. Music is such a universal language, and there are so many kinds of music - that not singing everyday would be impossible for me. My voice is lower than most and I'm always being asked to sing the low, bass part of songs, but that's O.K. Ho! Hooooooo!
What really tickles my soul is when I listen to children's choirs around the world. I look forward to listening to the song "Silent Night" every Merry-Christmas season. It doesn't matter what language is being sung - it still is the most heart warming song.
