The Snowmen Ice Rink Painters

I was out with Mrs. Claus last evening as we were taking our nightly walk and we heard several Snowmen blowing their whistles loudly and playing their “Painting-Time” melody. We hear this music daily, and it’s a pleasing melody for all to hear. It is perfectly pitched whistles playing in harmony. When they blow this particular melody we know it’s time for the Christmas Village skaters to get off the ice skating rink. This allows the Snowmen to perform their daily ice resurface painting. I don’t know how they do it so flawlessly every day, but it’s really fun to watch. We quickly headed over to view the ice painting performance. It’s actually a great show because the Snowmen skate in synchronization while applying the colors to the ice. They pull a line of big red buckets to the center of the rink. These buckets hold all the different colored waters. Each snowman has a large paintbrush that looks somewhat like a large golden broom. First, they have about 50 snowmen paint the whole rink grey – they’re in a line and start circling around and around until the whole rink is painted a grayish-white. Then the fun really begins! Usually one or two snowmen start out painting black lines (they’re showing off their skating skills too) dipping their brush-broom in a bucket and then skating off while dragging their golden paint brush brooms. Soon, one-by-one, more snowmen join in and start the painting choreography as well. They’ll be skating in and out, twirling, skidding, and flowing together in perfect circles. Soon there are 100 snowmen skating in-sync as they paint another beautiful mural on the rink – this time it was a picture of a moonrise cityscape of Paris, France! What a beautiful picture this is…I wonder what they’ll paint tomorrow?
