The Northern Lights
I often receive letters from kids wanting to know if we often see the Northern Lights? Of course, being on top of the world we see them all the time! The Merry-Christmas Village wouldn't be the same if we didn't have these wonderful sky lights to watch. There are a lot of reds and greens, and blue streaks in the sky when these sky lights get active. When the sky is twinkling very brightly from these auroras we will often stop everything we're doing, get some hot chocolate and take our chairs outside to enjoy nature's show! The elves say they can actually hear these northern lights! They claim that to most elves it sounds like a very soft harp being strummed. I wish I could hear as well as the elves! What is so spectacular about these northern lights is the way that they can dance in the sky. I enjoy these dancing lights, and I thank my lucky stars to be able to watch them so clearly! I think everyone should take time out to watch the wonderful shows of nature - and it doesn't have to be northern lights either. I've watched wonderful wind patterns on snow fields, and magnificent wind drawings while gazing across large crops of golden wheat fields that are planted around the globe. What kind of nature's show do you like?
