Christmas Bells

There was a very familiar sound today! Elf LePhant was tuning and shining Christmas bells that attach to one of our Christmas sleighs. We call this one the Golden Flash! LePhant said he was going to put over 1,250 new bells on each sleigh this year. That's nearly 8,000 new bells LePhant needs to sew! That's a lot of bells! There are five sleighs in the big red sleigh barn, plus the elves have plans to build another one soon. This is the time of year that they bring out the sleighs and polish everything. We'll decide soon which one to use for Christmas. I just love the sound of these bells. They're so wonderful to hear! The bells are so shiny and bright. LePhant is using a fine golden needle and silver thread to sew each bell to the soft red silk that lines the sleigh. LePhant is very musical, and he knows how to use his magical peen hammer to tap and tune each individual bell. These bells are made from metals from all over the world too. Each bell has a unique perfectly pitched sound. Our musical bell shop starts to get very busy in the next few weeks as the elves start hand making thousands and thousands of bells. I think everyone should have their own set of bells for Christmas.
