Antelope pulling sleighs?
I had forgotten about a scheduled visit from Dr. Nanna Pfyenpenny, curator and animal lover for the Christmas Village. She often brings up different animals from all over the world for the Village community to watch and learn. The elves just love to learn about different animals! Today she brought in several African Impalas, and I must say how impressed I am on how fast they are! Ho! Ho! Ho! I think I'll soon go the library to research information in books and magazines about the impala - which is actually a very graceful antelope, and a truly beautiful one at that. The elves who tend to the reindeer said they'd like to try out these antelopes for pulling the sleighs! I could just imagine the uproar this would cause! Dr. Nanna just laughed and said these antelope are meant for gracefullness and beauty - not toy delivery. We'll leave this to the professionals - our great Christmas Village reindeer. Most of our reindeer came out to watch but they just giggled at the site of these antelope- but then they befriended this group from Africa and soon they started having contests on who was faster! They even had a ice skating competition! I've never seen the reindeer have so much fun with another group of animals before!. Mrs. Claus brought out some of her famous ginger-snap cookies and we all gathered around and enjoyed her treat! Yes, we had a great visit from our African friends.
