(G) In "The Christmas Toy" came out before "Toy Story" but it has the same sort of loving spirit. Our favorite muppet character Kermit the Frog plays Santa as he narrates a classic Christmas story. This 50-minute movie is about Rugby the Tiger, who knows he's his owners' favorite toy (sound familiar?) and he believes he will be rewrapped this Christmas to be found again under the Christmas tree. All the other toys try to convince Rugby that this will not happen and an adventure begins when Rugby makes a daring trip to the living room. The toys begin their quest to rescue Rugby before he's seen because discovery by humans of a Toys' secret will make the toy forever frozen. A great story about friendship, loyalty and bravery. There are also some great songs to enjoy including "Old Friends" and "Try The Impossible." (1990)
